Conversion of two rooms and a hall into a luxurious bathroom in Redditch.
It’s post Christmas and New year (Happy New year 2016 for all of our customers and readers) and today we bring you a case study, showing you a complete rip out, re-fit and conversion of a luxury bathroom we installed in Redditch, just before Christmas 2015.
We were contacted in October 2015 by a couple that had just moved into their new home in Redditch.
They had an old, drab bathroom that they desperately wanted to replace. They also wanted more room and to have a luxurious space for them to relax after a hard days work.
Generally speaking, the refurbishment of a bathroom will include replacing the bath, wash hand basin and toilet but we did things a little differently here, creating a completely bespoke, luxurious bathroom.
It was decided that current bathroom space wasn’t large enough. The customer asked us whether it was possible, to knock through into a second room and hall way to create the space and install the bathroom they really wanted. Not only could we facilitate this, all the work was carried out and completed by our own staff!
Take a look below to see how the old bathroom looked.
Take a look at our before pictures:
As you can see from the pictures above – the bathroom was TINY. The second room was also not very large and the hallway was wasted.
The toilet and basin were a shade of what we call 1970s green and the actual bath was white and didn’t match.
The tiles on the walls looked as though they had been chosen at random. One wall having white tiles and another having what we can only describe as a green pattern overlaid onto a white back ground?
Then there was the work tops, white boxing and carpet. Yes, you read that correctly – carpet in a bathroom. With water……
The Helpful Plumber got to work right away (and saved the customers money – more on that later), take a look below to see the finished results…

The finishing touches
As you can see from the pictures above – it is a total transformation, almost un-recognisable from the original pictures. This bathroom install in Redditch was a complete success.
No expense was spared when choosing basins and other items for the bathroom. We installed a freestanding bath and a walk in shower.
The client also wanted a vanity unity, so we sourced an oak vanity unity – complementing the wooden floor perfectly. We also installed a modern, compact toilet – along with up to date LED spot lights, providing the perfect ambiance after a hard days work.
“Where did you save the customer money” we hear you scream! The client was originally quoted over £10,000 by three major bathroom companies. The Helpful Plumber completed all works for £8500 – saving the customer £1,500 just in time for Christmas!
